Recently moved into a home and I’m planning to stain and seal the deck that was rebuilt prior to the home being sold. With that said, how best could I/should I retrofit the top so it’s properly weather sealed? I’d also like to add some decorative caps on the top of each post location.

Short of redoing the whole railing down to the bottom of the posts, is there something I can do?
