Hey everyone! I recently moved out of my family home with my cat, and even though it was a tough decision, I'm so glad I brought her with me 🐱
Here's my dilemma: my parents live about 45 minutes away, and I'd love to visit them regularly — but I don't want to leave my cat alone for too long. She's always been used to having people around, so I worry she'd get really stressed on her own. On top of that, I really don't feel comfortable leaving her alone for a full day or even overnight.
I thought about leaving her at my parents' place permanently so that I'm the one making the trips (2 or 3 times a month) instead of stressing her out with car rides. But the thing is... I'm her person. Her safe place. And I'm not sure how she'd cope without me around, even if she's in a familiar environment with people she knows.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How do you balance visiting family while making sure your cat feels safe and secure? Thanks in advance !
