So Bumblebee does have some cute moments but I also understand the complaints with certain scenes

Correct me if I'm missing anything!

  1. Volume 7 the scene with Marrow-I could understand Blake's reaction(she looks more confused like she didn't hear Marrow) but Yang looks angry even though Marrow asked a reasonable question about fighting styles

  2. Volume 7 telling Robyn the truth-this has more to do with how despite focusing on Yang and Blake's trust of each other, we don't see them talk to Ruby or Weiss about this decision making it seem like their going behind the team's backs talking about it rather than having a change of heart. Like I can assume they told them afterward but still....

  3. Volume 8-Yang worrying more about Blake's thoughts than Ruby's.

I think its understandable to worry about your love interests thoughts more than your sibling but the issue seems more than Blake and Yang didn't even fight compared to Ruby and Yang so it seems completely out of nowhere hence likely why the Japanese version changes this scene.

Taoismn involves the idea that: Balance isn’t two opposing forces fighting But instead a natural equilibrium that emerges on its own-----. In Taoism: Yin and Yang are not enemies—they coexist and flow into each other Forcing balance actually breaks harmony The universe is more like an ecosystem than a battle

That lines up almost exactly with: “Balance is an ecosystem… it cannot be restored with force”

Ruby’s Volume 10 Arc (Taoism = “be, don’t force”)

Starting point after Volume 9

Ruby returns from the Ever After having learned:

  • “I don’t need to become someone else”
  • “I’m enough as I am”

But that’s internal. Volume 10 tests:

Can she lead without falling back into control and pressure?

Oscar's Volume 10 Arc

The Taoist path forward

Instead of:

  • Resisting Ozpin → creates friction
  • Letting Ozpin take over → loses agency

He nees to learn to:

  • Coexist fluidly

Oscar’s growth looks like:

  • Stop asking: “Who am I really?”
  • Focus more on: “What’s needed right now?”

This is very Taoist:

  • Identity isn’t fixed
  • It’s contextual and flowing
Character Initial Problem Taoist Resolution
Ruby “I must become more than myself” Stop forcing transformation
Oscar “I’m losing myself to someone else” Stop resisting transformation

This is very evidenced by the long scarf and blonde hair and how is was stated by Miles how Oscar is based on the Little Prince

But because Little Prince is less of a male hero's journey story they decided to based Jaune more off Joan d Arc and have Little Prince parallels moved to Oscar's introduction way forward in Volume 4.

This is just a guess though I feel its plausible
