4 Star Review Question (Salty Buyer?)

Hi all!

I'm new to selling and I had an electronic for sale. It was originally from poshmark, so I used those photos AND included some of my own. I put in the descriptor that it was originally from poshmark, and did not come with the original box but I was sharing it as I wanted to be able to verify the size that way too.

I price my items pretty fairly already, because I just want to offload, but someone offered about 25 lower than I was listing. I offered them 10 under, and they declined and sent me the offer at 20. I let it sit there and they messaged me and said someone had offered them the 25 off and to let them know if I didn't want to lower it, as they'd go with them. I hate pressure like that so I simply declined their offer and moved on.

They ended up offering me the price at 10 under I offered them, I accepted, and then sent it. Guess that was a lie, lol

I put the item in another box I had that fit perfectly and was padded, and then put it into a mailer and snug. I wrote a nice note.

I got their rating and it's 4 stars with notes that that I need to improve cleanliness, item description, and item packaging. I'm a little confused because if all of those things were actually an issue, wouldn't they have messaged me, left a lower star rating, or asked for a return? The photos I uploaded were of the exact quality, and the description was accurate, and I actually thought my packaging was extra kind.

Is this just a salty person because they tried to pressure me into lower and they didnt get it so they had to ding me or is it possible those were issues? What do you guys do with reviews, do you ask them for further feedback or just leave it? Trying to just know how sellers move as I continue to sell. Thank you all!

Hey guys, I'm new to buying and selling online but I've been doing a little bit of both lately and came across a scenario that I want an honest opinion about because I'm open to having been wrong.

I got $200 sneakers that were allegedly brand new or almost brand new, for about $120. They look great in the photo so it was pretty excited for them to get here. When they get here, they're in a bag mailer with no box. I'm not worried about the fact that there was no box, it's probably why they are marked down after what looked like one or two wears. But the issue that I had is shipping expensive shoes in no box to me was extremely unprofessional. They could have thrown it in the Amazon box or literally anything to keep the shoe protected from being squished, losing its integrity etc.

So I rate him four stars and accept it quickly because I know that that's important for release of payment and he sends me a message and starts arguing with me about why I marked him as four stars because it wasn't fair. I let him know that it was for not being in a box.

So I'm just trying to understand if we should only be rating sellers five stars or not at all or what I should have done instead? Again I'm new at this so I'm not trying to ruin anyone's hobby I suppose but the rating felt honest and I thought that's what we did

Thank you for your help!

EDIT: thank you everyone! I learned about how to get boxes and that I was not, actually, in the wrong and some of you would have rated even lower. Thanks for all the help!
