I keep enabling planning mode and it keeps editing files directly without planning. It was always kind of weird and flaky (like the model seems to choose, and alway chooses either No-Plan or chooses Yes-Plan-But-I'm-Going-To-Make-Plan-While-Editing-But-Offer-You-A-Proceed-Button-After-I've-Already-Implemented. Yes, I did the obvious thing of making sure my settings are set to ask me before proceeding.
A few weeks ago it just started skipping planning entirely.
I've used most alternatives to Antigravity and never experienced a single case of planning happening or not happening unexpectedly.
More bugs:
- sending feedback in the IDE just submits indefinitely (no idea if that means it's working or not)
- if you have 2 antigravity windows open on 2 different repos, it will attempt to read files from the other repo. This is horrible and useless (wasted tokens, permission prompts, security implications) if you're not expecting it. And nobody would have expected it.
- if you have 2 antigravity windows open on 2 different repos, picking between Gemini 3.1 (Pro High/Pro Low/Flash) on one chat window will auto-update the other window's chat, which can trick you into wasting expensive tokens on a chat you were using for simple tasks.
IF PLANNING MODE ACTUALLY WORKED RELIABLY, it would probably be one of my preferred versions of it.
