I spent way too long today trying to find a Netflix show I watched a while back. I remembered liking it, but I completely forgot the title and even the specific crime the characters were committing. I Google searched:
"tv show about kids who do something illegal maybe one season"
"netflix show teen girls crime not drugs"
After scrolling through a dozen lists of teen dramas and getting nowhere, I finally had a breakthrough and asked myself, "Wait, wasn’t it about fake IDs?" I searched that, and Google finally gave me the answer: Fakes.
It’s about two friends who accidentally build a massive fake ID empire.
I enjoyed the show, but kind of repressed all memory of it. I’m just glad I finally figured it out.
But I digress. This whole thing brings me to my real point about the abbreviation for identification. Isn't "ID" a strange choice for an abbreviation? The "I" stands for "I" and the "D" stands for "dentification." It seems like the "D" is doing all the heavy lifting there.
