I’m hoping you all can help steer me in the right direction. I’ve just recently dipped my toe into the romantic fantasy genre and I am officially hooked, but I'm also completely overwhelmed! I tried looking for recommendations on Instagram and TikTok, but there are just so many options and hype out there that I have no idea where to start.
To give you an idea of what I like, I just finished reading A Wraith Beneath the Tide and absolutely loved it. The main things that worked for me were:
The Banter: The back-and-forth between the FMC and MMC.
A Truly Strong FMC: I love a badass, capable female lead who can hold her own.
The Slow Burn: I definitely prefer it when the tension builds naturally over time rather than a rush to the romance.
I'm open to both standalone books and series. What are your absolute must-reads that fit this vibe?
