Cruise Control inquiry
Hello guys I want your help with something. I Have a 2015 mitsubishi lancer 1.6L A/T.
2 weeks ago I decided to install cruise control , there is a guy who is good at doing it.
It is working fine and everything , the only drawback is that I used to have a small eco indicatior greenlamp in the cluster that turned on or off based on my foot position on the throttle.
My question is how does this software work knowing in fact that there is no mitsubishi with a 1.6L automatic that came from factory with cruise control on the entire planet.
I kept asking gemini and chatgpt for answers to that question and the only thing I understood that in fact mitsubishi was planning to release cruise control officially for the lancer 1.6 however during testing they found out a small issue with hill terrian where the car kept shifting between 3rd and overdrive so mitsubishi ditched it and kept the software there but unavailable for usage and thanks to some russian guys they jailbreaked it and renabled it. Is it true or did I install an entire frankenstien software on the ECU ?
The car is working fine no jerks or different behavior or anything , the only thing I noted and I am not 100% whether it did exist before installing cruise control or not is that when I cold start the car early in the morning in temperatures that are around 22 degrees Celsius the car holds 1.2k rpm for almost a minute and 10seconds before settling to 1k and then normally idling , I compared this to a friend's car but in a different country to be fair and it doesn't do that.
Does anyone know if I am just overreacting or did installing cruise control ruin the car ?
