Last year I did my first dense planting with 1 foot spacing. I have little bluestem interspersed between my drifts of forbs.

Since it’s a warm season grass it’s pretty slow to start so far, and the surrounding forbs look like they’ll soon shade it out in a lot of places. For example there’s some bee balm directly south of it that’s already a couple feet tall. Should I be worried about this or will it be able to shoot up through it once the soil warms more next month?
