Now that it’s Tuesday, and I’m no longer seething mad, I think we have to give Mini a break (I wanted heads on pikes on Saturday) he’s inherited a stinker of a list, almost half the list has only been there for 2 seasons, you have to give him time for his game plan take. If we are in the same position this time next season, then questions need to be had and we should start looking for a new head coach.
I truly believe Duursma is the biggest flight risk across the whole AFL, more so than Harley. His brother wasn’t a fan of living out of Melbourne, imagine the same for Will, especially having to play on a WAFL level team. Once a destination club, I get this feeling we will become a revolving door of young talent.
Where do we go from here? How does this football club stay relevant? If I’m Duursma, or Reid, or Shanahan, would I want to hang around and see where this dumpster fire goes. 5 years of being arguable the shittest football team in AFL history. Every facet of our game is deplorable, pressure, accuracy, inside 50 to goal ratio, defensive pressure. Beaten by a team that shouldn’t beat a VFL side on paper. I’ve been a ticketed member for 5 years, I’ve literally watched 3 wins in that time (fifo causes me to miss a few).
