I’ve seen some interesting theories about Elain’s journey and how it could tie with Blodeuwedd, who in Welsh mythology is a woman made of flowers. She betrays her husband because she falls in love with another man and resents being in a marriage which she never chose, with a man she does not love. She is then ultimately punished by being transformed into an owl.

I know it’s not a new theory especially considering SJM had previously saved Blodeuwedd art on her Pinterest, but with that new owl tattoo SJM got, I’m almost certain she’s been pulling themes from Blodeuwedd’s story, and I’m curious to hear what everyone thinks about this - do you see this as a possibility at all, how do you think this would tie into Elain and Azriel’s journey, and how do you hope to see / think SJM would approach this? 🩷
