Why does ANC feel different on sleep earbuds vs AirPods Pro?

I’ve been using both AirPods Pro and sleep earbuds recently, and I noticed the ANC feels quite different between them.

From what I understand, ANC mainly targets low to mid-frequency noise, and a lot of reviews mention that it’s not a key feature for sleep earbuds since the use case is different.

But in real use with AirPods Pro, turning on ANC gives a very strong sense that overall background noise drops significantly. It feels more like a general “quieting” of the environment rather than just reducing certain frequencies.

With sleep earbuds, the experience seems more subtle and tuned toward overnight comfort and long wear.

Is this a performance difference, or just fit, tuning, or expectations?

I travel a lot, so I am constantly dealing with long flights and different hotel environments. The biggest issue for me is noise, like airplane engine hum, people talking, and sometimes hotels that are just not soundproof at all.

So I have been looking for a pair of sleep earbuds with really strong noise reduction. Ideally something that can handle low frequency noise like airplane engines, but also reduce voices and random sounds. Comfort is also very important for me since I would want to wear them for long periods or even sleep with them on flights.

I have tried regular earbuds and earplugs before, but they only help a little and I still wake up pretty easily.

Right now I am mainly looking at three options
Soundcore Sleep A30
Ozlo Sleepbuds
Somnipods 3

From what I have seen so far
A30 has active noise cancellation, which might help more with airplane noise
Ozlo seems more focused on comfort and noise masking
Somnipods 3 looks like a mix of both

Curious if anyone here has actually used any of these, especially in real situations like flights or noisy hotels.Would really appreciate any recommendations or real experiences before I decide to buy.
