I recently entered the application window for Medicare. I'm pretty sure I applied for both parts A and B, but I just looked at my Medicare card online and it says I'm covered for only part A. A chatbot on the Medicare site said I only have part A coverage and that I have to contact SSA about my part B application. I checked on the SSA website and it says I've applied--doesn't say for what--and won't let me apply for part B. Is it possible that I've only been approved so far for Part A and that the approval for Part B is forthcoming? I do have a call into SSA, but I'm curious if anyone has had this same experience. It is possible that I only applied for part A, but I don't think so, and, if that were the case, why can't I apply for part B now? That last is a rhetorical question.
