My dad is a veteran battling brain cancer. He’s gone through brain surgery, had life threatening falls, and all the ups and downs that come with cancer.

I’ve been listening to KF for years, but over the last seven months it’s really been a bright spot in my week (I even recently asked the guys if they’d shoutout a fundraiser to help my family but got no reply, now I know why 😭). It’s been a stable, fun show that was doing something good during a time of political cruelty, and I found myself really looking forward to each episode.

Also, I do stand up comedy (purely open mic right now) and the local comedy scene in Iowa is dying (not just here, but Goonie’s in Rochester went down after 20 years, it’s becoming impossible to find good mics) so I have to consider long drives to Chicago, and I’ve learned a lot about the Chicago scene from this podcast. It’s been cool knowing if I continue this way, I might bump into the boys at the Lincoln Lodge or another club.

It’s going to be hard finding another podcast that hits like this one. Thanks to KF for the bright spot in dark times and the community behind them. 💪
