Currently the story banner only exists as bait for new players imo. I wish FGO copied from other gachas and added a unique currency that we can earn next to SQ to roll on the story banner and also add a pity to it. Obiously this currency shouldn't reduce the amount of SQ or replace any SQ rewards, It should be something extra.

I was also thinking that they can let us choose our own rate up SSR or at least a pity target for the story banner out of the story banner pool if not then the pity would give you a random SSR.

Even if lasengle doesn't do these idea, they should still do something with the story banner to make it more appealing.
