Actors returning to their pre-fame roles after gaining considerably more recognition
I always find it cool how some actors are still willing to reprise roles from earlier in their career, before they are well-known. Could be for a multitude of reasons, from signed contracts, attachment to the character/franchise, or simply more money. Actors who got famous from the same role (like Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker returning in Episode 7) do not count.
Jenna Coleman voiced Melia in Xenoblade: Chronicles game series. First game was in 2012, she still voiced her in X:C3 which was released in 2022. Between that she had major roles like Clara Oswald, a companion in the Doctor Who series, as well as lead roles in TV series like The Serpent and Victoria.
Anna Gunn voiced Ariel in the Legacy of Kain game series, from Blood Omen in 1996 and returned in Ascendance in 2026. She had a major role in Deadwood as Martha Bullock, and most known for being Skyler White in Breaking Bad.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The best example of this. Almost every actor in the 2010 movie, returned to voice the same characters in the 2023 animated series. Only exception are the Katayanagi Twins who didn't even speak in the movie. The shooting was super fun according to the cast, and despite their varying levels of fame in the decade between, everyone was eager to reprise.
