I need somebody to weigh in on this. I've never written FF. I rarely read FF. That being said, I started playing this video game and recently got through a pretty intense scene where my character falls off of a cliff and walks back into town into the middle of her own memorial. Now, the rational part of me understands that there's x possible relationship partners and y possible relationship milestones and that these characters have no memory so I know there can't be a meaningful conversation about the event between my character and her husband. So I wrote it. Simple enough. But the characters started talking to me. Now I'm 53 pages into a story that takes place along and intertwined with the plot of the game. I've evolved personalities, created personal backstories to fit, and even ended up in a why choose/throuple situation between my character, her husband, and the Bad Boy With Baggage. Have I completely lost my mind?
