Hey everyone.

I've always been a huge metal/rock fan but when I was younger I had neither the money nor the time to learn how to play an electric guitar and now that I have a bit more of both I want to start. I'm not looking to suddenly become really good because I have next to no music experience whatsoever. What should I do first? Learn sheet music? I genuinely have no direction for this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
