Found on EBay, listed as ‘1920’s Nihongami Comb’

Hi all!

I’m wondering if anyone here can tell me anything about this comb and if it even is one and not just a hair stick?

I found it (and bought it lol) when I was searching for authentic Nihongami tsugegushi, and I’m sure I have seen it used to keep Katsura bin tidy which is why I’ve chosen this sub to post in.

Please be honest if you know it’s not what I think it is…I’ll still love it anyway 🥰

Thank you in advance for any light you can shed! 🌸

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted about my homemade kanzashi, but as usual, life gets in the way and now I have a few more to share 😅

I use jewellery findings, steel rods and beads. I don’t solder metal as I create these in my bedroom haha, the pieces are carefully secured together by wrapping thin wire and are surprisingly sturdy.

I hope you enjoy my creations!

I’m obsessed with making Oiran-style bira kanzashi hairpins especially, heavily inspired by the photoshoot studios that offer the Oiran and GeiMaiko shoots.

They’re basically things that I can’t get a hold of myself being in the UK, so I thought why not try to make them 😅🌸
