I’ve been rewatching music parodies of both MADtv and In Living Color and have found it peculiar that ILC was able to make it sound like the original songs, while MADtv’s versions always weren't exactly one-to-one. For example, ILC's parodies of MJ sounded exactly like the original songs. However, when MADtv parodied artists such as 50 Cent or R Kelly, the parodies sounded similar but not exact. I've been curious about this for a while, so if anyone could give me some more info with regards to this, I'd really appreciate it.
