Teleconsult with Dr. Shakir
I just had my teleconsult with Dr. Shakir earlier this week and I am now really considering moving forward with this vitrectomy. I've been suffering for over 2.5 years with my left eye with a partial PVD that left me with a dark crescent "weiss ring" that moves into my central vision like a windshield wiper. And I recently just got a partial PVD on my right eye that also swipes into my central vision like a windshield wiper. My teleconsult with Dr. Shakir gave me a lot of confidence that this is the man that I want to do my surgery. It's only a matter of pulling the trigger now. Some context, I am 23 and highly myopic. I am not too worried about cataracts as Dr. Shakir said that I would most likely get them when I hit 50+, but I do fear a frill / residual floaters. These last 2.5 years have been the most depressing and sad years of my relatively short-lived life. I wonder if this will be the best investment I'll ever make.
