Future chances

Hi everyone, in the US currently I’d really appreciate some guidance on my situation and future chances for EB2 NIW.

I was born in the list of 39 countries (not a citizen tho) but I am a citizen of a non banned country.

I’m currently completing my Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences (in the US btw), with research in cancer biology focused on identifying substrates of a specific protein (its pretty novel as this protein has not been studied before).

At the moment, I don’t have any publications yet, but I am working toward publishing after im done with my masters. I’m also considering continuing into a PhD program.

I wanted to ask:

- What are my realistic chances of getting approved for EB2 NIW in the future given my background?

- How important are publications, and how many would typically make a strong case?

- Would pursuing a PhD significantly strengthen my profile for NIW?

- When is the right time to start preparing or applying?

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who applied with a similar background or in biomedical research.

OPT-Born in banned countries not a citizen

Hey Guys!

I was born in a banned country but I don't have t Nationality of that banned country. The country has been in the "red zone" in the past even when I applied for F1 visa.

I'm trying to understand what kind of impact it will have.

I applied for OPT March 27th and got a biometrics appointment notice a week after. It's scheduled for later this month. I'm thinking of rescheduling it and also applying for premium processing.

I'm a masters student with thesis, so I still have some time left to complete my degree. I'm looking for any advice honestly. I'm so stuck i dont know what to do at this point. I asked the OISS office here and they said that it could impact it by pausing the application but there's no word from USCIS

Rescheduling biometrics appointment

Hey Everyone!

My appointment is on the 21st of April for OPT. Will it make a difference if I reschedule my appointment to this week? like my application will be in the process? Or will rescheduling speed up the process?
