Pep Talk: Ant will bring a ring to Minnesota and other glorious things, you sad, pitiful snow people.

Yea, we got bounced. That sucks. But I'm seeing a lot of dramatic overreactions.

HOW WILL WE EVER BEAT OKC AND SPURS?! OMG LETS BLOW IT ALL UP. FIRE EVERYONE.
Calm down and go take a walk, and let me remind you of some things.

1. Ant will bring a ring to Minnesota in the next 5 years, and I guarantee that.
I know this is a foreign and uncomfortable thought for your cold, pasty, championship-barren, perpetual-losing-ass Minnesota soul to even consider, but humor me for a moment...

Light a candle and pray to St. Anthony of Dawgington... think of Antman when he's on a heater, when he playing for his mama, when the game is on the line and a shot needs to be made. Connect with that DAWG inside HIM and ask yourself: you really think he aint gonna bring home a ring?

If your soul is frozen over from being in Minnesota too long, lemme break it down for you:

  • Yes, OKC is amazing but they're entering the "we have to actually pay these dudes now" phase of this team.
    • JW & Chet are getting paid $50 mil+ MORE (combined) starting next year. Seems to me they'll have to shed Dort & Hartenstein.
    • Shai bumps to 60m in 2027.
  • Spurs are way scarier imo. They're just guaranteed to be amazing for like 15 years.
    • BUT in 27/28 they're also going to have to pay Wemby extraterrestrial figures and around that time the Fox contract is going to start weighing on them.
    • Sadly, I think people forget how likely it is that Wemby will be injured like 30% of his career, and how after each one he'll come back less and less himself.
  • Since we're talking about injuries - that shit happens. The gods didn't favor us this year, but there will be years where they really will.
  • Oh, by the way: WE HAVE TIM FUCKING CONNELLY!!! Do yall forget this?

2027-2028 is one of our best shots:

  • Ant, Jaden, Naz & Ayo contracts will all be better value OKC & Spurs and they'll all be in their super prime.
  • TJ will be 2 years better and on a 5 mill contract.
  • Beringer (in shallah) will be a solid starter for us and dangerous on BOTH ends and on a 5 mill contract.
  • Randle will be retired to texas (manifesting this)

But our "window" is open from now until 2028 and many will forget this, even our fans.

Other glorious things:
2. Can we just for a second appreciate that we have an awesome and not-total-dog-shit basketball team that can actually compete at the highest level?
3. Remember how fun it was to beat the soul out of the Nuggets franchise?
4. Darth Jaden has risen.
5. RANDLE is gonnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeee
6. DID I MENTION WE HAVE TIM FUCKING CONNELLY?
7. We might actually see a culture shift next year and build lasting habits in the regular season?
8. Chris finch is a good coach, so stfu.
9. Ant press conferences when we win.
10. We have hilarious and likable players who don't flop and make the rest of the the nba cry because they play actual physical basketball instead of flailing themselves around like actual bitches? (and their fans have to compartmentalize to condone that shit).

Sure, we didn't win the championship but I thought this season was fucking awesome.

I love this team, it's only going to get better, and we have at least 4 more years of this to look forward to.

Rudy gets fouled more than Wemby and Spurs fans are cry babies.

Obviously we generally like the spurs and their fans, but dear god the whining is out of control about their precious, fragile star.

It's especially hilarious after he just INTENTIONALLY drove his femur sized elbow into Naz's face (after smacking Rudy in the face).

They have a superfreak 8' athlete who is generational player, galactic defender, and they want to wrap him in bubble wrap and demand he gets special treatment compared to all the other centers in the league on top of that?

He can exploit everyone else's weaknesses on court but no one else should be allowed to exploit his weakness.

Give me a break. If the wolves get them so bothered, they are not emotionally prepared for OKC (next year) or basically the rest of Wemby's career.

We would be up 3-1 right now if we hadn't come out so flat in 1st quarter of game 3.

I think this team is closer to a championship than most people realize.

But the culture of completely ghosting sections of the games (ie our regular season habits) in of the biggest things in our way and its kinda sad.

And it's things like that which are the difference between winning and losing these series.

I really respect the respect the entire Spurs team except for Castle.

Dude flops like a fish and fouls like OKC on defense. Matter of fact, he plays exactly like OKC.

Which is a bummer cause he's super talented. I do respect the hustle tho.

Great to play against a respectable opponent (unlike OKC) who really brings it. If they do beat us I'll be rooting for them, but 100% believe we can win this series.

Yea we got smoked. Classic Minnesota.

Denver series was so good. This honestly makes this series ever better. It's going to be a long awesome rivalry-building series and I'm having a blast.

I hope you are too, anon.

We still loggin ass dogs and we gonna keep on loggin.
