Boots has been doing this thing where he climbs up on my stomach while I’m still in bed in the morning, gets comfy, and stares directly at me for about 5 minutes. Then he’s done and abruptly makes his exit. I call it our Morning Salutations moment. We set our intentions for the day, and he gets chin and head scratches.

The same scenario unfolds at night when I get in bed. 5 minutes of staring, chin scratches, and an abrupt departure. I call this one our Gratitude Recap, where we talk about all the things we are thankful for that day.

I promise I’m not batshit crazy. Making it fun helps me go to sleep a little less angry and bitter about the world at large. 😻
