I’m an indie developer and I’ve recently released an Android utility called Status Notifier. I wanted to reach out to the simracing community to see if (and how) a tool like this might be useful during team events and endurance races.

The Functional Logic: The app is designed to solve "check-in friction". Instead of a team member having to ask over Discord "What's the status?" or "Are we pitting?", a designated Admin broadcasts a status that appears as a persistent floating screen overlay on all circle members' devices.

How it could apply to Simracing:

• Passive Awareness: Team members can monitor the active driver’s situation (Pushing, Fuel Saving, Pitting, Incident) via a small overlay on their secondary tablet/phone while they are off-stint or spoting.
• 100% Customizable: You define the codes. You can set up a legend specifically for your race (e.g., P for Pit, S for Save, F for Fast Repair, W for Warning).
• Multitasking: The overlay stays visible on top of other apps (like Discord, browsers, or telemetry tools), so you don't have to switch apps to know the current race state.

I’d love to hear your thoughts: In an endurance or team setting, would you find a visual, textless broadcast like this to be a useful supplement to standard voice communication?

Status Notifier was developed to solve a specific operational bottleneck: the interruption caused by manual status check-ins. In many team environments, staying updated currently requires "active" communication (sending a text or making a call) which forces the recipient to break their multitasking flow.

The Functional Logic

The goal was to move communication from an active interruption to a passive observation. The application utilizes the Android Overlay API to broadcast real-time status updates as a persistent floating element. This allows circle members to monitor an Admin’s status without leaving their primary application, such as GPS navigation, work dashboards, or field service tools.

The Core Philosophy

The system is designed as a blank canvas. To remain industry-agnostic, every status is 100% customizable. Users define their own colors, letters, and meanings to match their specific workflow. The application has just launched on the Play Store. The current focus is on gathering data from these different niches to determine which specific features best close the communication loop for specific jobs.

I would really appreciate any feedback regarding how practical and necessary you find the app, as well as your thoughts on the UI.
