Thoughts: I've heard so many good things about this bottle and missed snagging one the last time my store got a shipment in about a 8-12 months ago. Since then I have always kept an eye out for the next batch of these to arrive at my store and when I saw this on the shelf this time I didn't hesitate to grab one. I was so excited to try this bottle and it didn't disappoint.
The cherry/grape/dark fruit sweetness is delightful and the rye notes are strong, overpowering the sweetness in a pleasant way if that makes sense. Mint, cinnamon and cider spice hit your pallet quickly after the sweetness. Just enough sweetness up front and just enough spice at the end of the pallet. The pallet is rich and full. The finish is spicey and warm, providing a very nice Kentucky hug. The mint and rye spice lingers, and you get a little oak spice.
I've said this in a previous review but I get most excited about bourbons that are a great value and this bottle is a homerun in that category. This is one of the best values in all of bourbon in my opinion. I added an extra 0.5 to the score because of that. Such an incredible bottle for the price.
