Hi, I have a question. My Gmail account got stolen (I won’t go into details), and along with it my Discord account too, through the “wonderful” Family Link exploit. From what I understand, there are basically close to zero chances of recovering a Gmail account in this situation because Gmail has no real support (other than the automated one, which doesn’t help with this exploit).
So my question is: has anyone managed to recover their Discord account without access to the original email? By submitting a ticket to Discord Support from another email and getting the account back?
If yes, how did you manage it? What kind of proof did you provide? Any tips?Because I already made a ticket, and they refused me, telling me to recover the email from my provider and then submit a ticket from the original email. I honestly don’t understand this whole “original email” requirement to prove ownership—especially since it’s obvious from the activity logs that the account is being used from a different IP and even another country, and I’m pretty sure it’s sending scam DMs. i provided a lot of evidence, such as:
- username
- account creation date
- which app I used for 2FA
- phone number
- the location where I created the account
- the linked card I used to buy Discord Nitro (including the last 4 digits)
- a screenshot/proof of my latest payment
- 12 Discord Nitro codes I activated over the course of a year
- the types of phones I used
- my PC specs (both current and past, from when I’ve had the account)
- accounts linked to my Discord
- screenshots showing I’m still logged into that email on other platforms
- IP addresses
And on top of that, I even completed a facial verification earlier this year. Still, they rejected me just because I don’t have access to the original email.
I kept explaining that I can’t recover the original email because of Family Link. I’ve seen some people say they managed to recover their Discord account without the original email, but I don’t understand how—was it just luck or something else?
One more thing: I’m still logged into my X/Twitter account with that original email. If I contact support there, would that help in any way?
So once again, I’m really curious how some of you managed to recover your Discord account without access to the original email
