hi! I’m getting a new tank, 290 litres (63.7 imperial gallons, 76 US gallons).
I’m still unsure on what fish I’d like- leaning towards one pair of german veiltail rams, some ember tetras and a longfin snow white bristlenose pleco. to me, it still feels a little empty/lacks variety, so I was looking for other small fish to go with the tetras, and the German ram is just awfully small. I love the look of cichlids, don’t really love the aggressive behaviour. fish are just great and it’s so hard to pick because theres just so many great options!
i don’t want to hurt a fish’s wellbeing, and I’m not sure which bigger non aggressive fish would be okay with 290 l. I haven’t gotten any sand etc for it yet because Ill be buying for my specific fish’s needs (then cycle cycle cycle, do the same to QT tank before I even order any)
basically I’m asking; if you were given the opportunity to start a 290L from scratch, what fish would you be getting into?
except guppies please my family has a long tradition of breeding guppies and I do not want that 🥲
