Female dog, 6yrs old, mixed breed. Was recently diagnosed with diabetes in January 2026 and was diagnosed with epilepsy at 3yrs old. My concern is the dramatic weight loss since the diabetes diagnosis. She has lost 14lbs since January and seems like she is just skin and bones. I know everything says once the glucose is under control the weight will come back but I feel like I am slowly killing her. It is so hard. We started on prozinc twice a day at 6units up to 12units up until 2wks ago when we switched to vetsulin and starting at 6 units twice a day. ​we currently have the libre 3 on for a second time due to the medication switch and to see if this will decrease her levels. He curves have always been more of a flat line with glucose levels between 300 -400. I am not even sure what I am asking and maybe I just need words of encouragement or any other ideas anyone may have.
