Finland first residence permit based on family ties delay
Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with this situation regarding Finland family residence permits.
My first residence permit application (family ties) has already exceeded the statutory processing time. It has now been around 11 months with no decision yet and is at step 2. I have submitted my supplement in March.
The sponsor (husband) living in Finland currently has a valid residence permit, but his permit is about to expire, so he applied for an extended permit last month before any decision has been made on my first permit application.
My question is:
Will my first residence permit application become “stuck” or delayed until the sponsor receives the decision on their extended permit application? Or can Migri still issue a decision on the my permit regardless of the sponsor’s extension still being under processing?
If anyone has gone through a similar situation or has knowledge about how Migri handles this, I would really appreciate hearing your experiences.
