I used to think I entered trades late because I did not see the trade setup on time.

I do not think that is true anymore.

Most of the time I do see the trade setup

I just do not act on the trade setup.

I wait for confirmation of the trade setup.

Then I wait for confirmation of the trade setup.

Then I wait for a little more confirmation of the trade setup.

And by the time I feel comfortable with the trade setup the move is already done.

So it is not a timing issue, with the trade setup.

It is hesitation to enter the trade.

I think I trust the trade after the trade moves, which is kind of backwards.

I am still trying to fix this issue with entering trades

Do you guys enter trades early. Deal with uncertainty of the trade or do you wait for confirmation of the trade and risk missing the move of the trade?

year I lost around ₹3.34L on trading.

It wasn't one trade it was many bad choices.

When I look back my biggest mistake wasn't the stocks I chose.

It was how I made my decisions.

I was:

* buying stocks because of tips from people

* getting in after the price had already moved up

* trying to guess how the market was feeling instead of understanding it

The worst part is I didn't even know what I was doing wrong at the time.

Everything seemed to make sense then.

Later did I realize what went wrong.

Lately I've been trying to go through my past trades and see if there are patterns in my behavior.

One thing I'm noticing is:

bad trades didn't happen because I didn't know enough

They happened because I wasn't clear, about what I was doing before I started

I'm still trying to figure this out but its already changing how I think about trading.

I'm curious if others have had experiences.

What was the biggest mistake you only understood after losing money on trading?

What did you learn from losing money on trading?

I noticed something about my trades recently.

A lot of my trades do not come from a trade setup they come from this feeling that I am about to miss something big.

The market is moving and I am just sitting there so I jump into a trade.

I do this because I do not want to feel left out not because it's a great trade.

Most of the time trades like these do not end well for me.

I think it is more about the feeling that I should be doing something, than seeing a real opportunity to make a trade.

My trades are driven by this feeling of missing out.

I am still trying to figure out how to deal with this issue of making trades because of feeling like I am missing out.

Does anyone else feel this fear of missing out when they are not making a trade like I do with my trades?

When I take a trade I am not so sure anymore.

I have noticed something about myself that's pretty weird.

When I look at charts everything seems clear to me.

I can look at the trading charts. Analyze them properly.

I can think about what the charts are telling me in a logical way.

I even feel confident about what I would do in a situation.

The moment I actually enter a trade trading feels very different.

Everything changes when I have money on the line.

I start to guess my decisions.

I watch every move that the market makes.

I think about getting out of the trade which is not what I had planned.

It is, like all of my clarity disappears once my real money is involved in the trade.

This makes me wonder if understanding the market and handling my emotions while trading are two different skills.

I am still trying to figure this out and understand what is going on with my trading.

Does anyone else feel this shift after they enter a trade with their money?
