Hi all, I’m a 23y.o FTM, 5 weeks pp. I had an episiotomy, resulting in a third degree tear after pushing out my 8lb 12oz boy. I have no clue what it looks like down there. I literally have not looked once. Lol.

The pain from the tear was terrible for the first couple of weeks. Now, I feel much better and I really don’t feel any pain at all. I do however still have a bit of fluid/discharge leaking out (lochia), which I’ve heard is normal. It’s a yellowish/brownish color.

I have my postpartum check-up appointment tomorrow and I’m wondering what to expect. If you had a third degree tear, when were you clear for *activities*? Did you have to wait for the lochia to go away completely? I’m scared that nothing will feel normal for a while.. I’m scared to even try having sex again even if I do get the green light, even though I’m no longer in pain.

TIA! :)
