I’m having a weird issue with Adobe Premiere Pro and I can’t figure it out.

Every video I import (MP4 H.264, from my phone or downloaded online) shows completely wrong colors — like a purple/green tint, almost like a negative or broken color channels.

Important details:

  • Fresh install of Premiere Pro
  • No effects applied at all
  • Happens with ANY video I import
  • Already set to Rec.709
  • Already tried creating new sequences/projects
  • Renderer is locked to “Mercury Playback Engine Software Only” (I don’t have a dedicated GPU)

What I already tried:

  • Disabled all effects (none were applied anyway)
  • Checked Lumetri (nothing active)
  • Tried different video files (same issue)
  • Changed sequence settings
  • Verified color space (Rec.709)

My PC build:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G (integrated Vega graphics)
  • GPU: none (using integrated graphics)
  • RAM: (add how much you have, ex: 16GB)
  • Storage: SSD
  • OS: Windows 10/11

It really feels like a decoding or driver issue rather than something inside the project.

Has anyone experienced this or knows a fix? I’m thinking it might be related to hardware decoding or AMD drivers, but not sure.

Thanks in advance.
