Hello everyone,
I wanted to get some feedback and perspective from those working in education regarding what you feel is currently lacking for the younger generation when it comes to post-secondary planning and long-term career direction.
Do you think the issue is:
- Lack of accessible advising and mentorship?
- Students not having a clear end goal before entering post-secondary?
- Pressure to pursue degrees without fully understanding career outcomes?
- Limited exposure to alternative pathways such as trades, entrepreneurship, or workforce opportunities?
- Students choosing programs they may not actually enjoy or pursue after graduating?
I’m especially curious to hear from professors, advisors, counselors, and those who work directly with students.
From your experience:
- What are the biggest gaps you see?
- Where do students seem most lost or unsupported?
- What resources or systems do you think could improve outcomes?
I’m currently researching and building within the education/career guidance space, so I’d genuinely value honest feedback and discussion from people who see these challenges firsthand.
Appreciate any insights.
