My name is Neil Shortland, a Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a psychologist who studies decision-making. Based on prior research and conversations with golfers and coaches, we believe personality factors may influence decision-making and scoring under pressure and after adversity.
We designed a study that involves completing brief personality measures and submitting scores from recent rounds (competitive or non-competitive).
We are looking for low-handicap (<5) golfers who are willing to take our study.
Participants receive entry into a raffle for 1 of 10 $100 PGA Superstore gift cards. Every participant also receives a free personality assessment and access to our findings about personality and performance.
We are recruiting only 100 participants (~1/10 chance of winning). A referral program also exists where any participant who refers others will receive $5 per completed referral (up to $50 in PGA Superstore gift cards).
