Hey everyone!
I’ve been driving a lot more these days, having fun with my manual car! (I love going down the highway now at speed!)
There is one question I have about a situation I sometimes find myself in, and that is appropriate gear selection when going at super slow speeds.
For example, I’ll be approaching the traffic lights, slowing down and downshifting into 2nd as I approach the intersection, when I just hit the line at a near stop, the light suddenly turns green.
Usually I’d downshift to 1st and do a take off, but that seems so slow. I was wondering if I could do a take off in 2nd instead (going around 5-10 km/h) by lifting my clutch up/applying gas. I’m worried to try it, so thought I’d ask before I try it tomorrow!

Edit: another question, do I take off in 2nd when going down a steep a hill from a traffic light? How would I take off?
