I (23) got a job out of uni making £50k in London and now after 6 months I feel like I'm not making as much progress as I thought I would.

When I finished uni I was coasting on savings for a few months applying for jobs and living with parents which meant I had essentially £0 on the first day of work. When I moved to London I was living in a shared house and since I really don't like interacting with others I was eating out almost every day just to avoid the contact. Now I've moved into a flat with my gf so I expect my costs, especially food, to fall dramatically.

Moving into a flat was expensive with the deposit and furniture essentially wiping me out and pushing me into an overdraft. I got paid this morning whiched cleared the overdraft and decided to pay my rent and bills for May early so I can see where exactly I am:

Bank: £500

Cash ISA: £300 (this got especially hurt from the move)

Stock ISA: £2,500

Pension: £1,500

At a high level my budget is

Rent + bills: £1,350

Weekly allowance: £150 (standing order to a different account)

No CC

Note that means I'm expected to hit overdraft again this month if I use my full weekly allowance.

Like I said I was definitely over spending and have decided to get serious about living below my means, but I still feel like I'm falling short of where I'm supposed. It feels like I'm always looking to the end of the month and having to move cash or sell stocks to clear overdraft. And since I'm at the very start of my career the FIRE goal is so far away.

Idk what I made this post for, half just to vent and half for advice. What did you guys do at the start of your career and FIRE journey?
