Disclaimer: this seems to work well for me short-term, not sure about long-term or for others.

Background: I usually have 24-36 mg of nicotine per day. Lithium is a poorly-studied but probably essential trace mineral that humans need and our food and soil is depleted of it (higher levels of lithium in drinking water is known to correlate with lower suicides and depression). It's supposed to be neuroprotective and help otherwise with brain; I wanted to try lithium orotate for general well-being (I have minor slight anxiety, stress, or lack of confidence sometimes). Experimenting with one 5 mg lithium orotate (5 mg elemental Li+) dose every 2-3 days or so.

What I *didn't* know is how much it would IMMEDIATELY quench my nicotine desire. For example, today I took a 5 mg Li dose at noon and 7 hours later, I had only one 6mg Velo (out of habit really) and have little desire left for more nicotine the rest of the day, compared to most days. Li-Orotate makes me feel relaxed and soothed.

Turns out, Li is proven to be able to curb alcoholism, so I'm not surprised it's helping my impulse control elsewhere. Not sure how this would amount to long-term but just wanted to share.
