It was one of the pieces he didn't want to take when moving to a care home. We're in the Netherlands.
It's signed with Van Ostade W.D., likely referencing to Adriaen van Ostade. Although I'm pretty sure it's not Ostade himself, and I don't know what W.D. means.
According to my own research it's likely a copy of 'Boerengezelschap in een Prieel' from 1676 (https://www.dbnl.org/tekst/mart039holl01_01/mart039holl01_01_0010.php, page 397).
The stamp on the back of the wood points to W.M. Stam in The Hague. This was a shop for art materials that existed at the same time Vincent van Gogh was alive (https://vangoghroute.nl/nederland/den-haag/stam/).
What I can find and based on the four number format of the phone number on the stamp, it was likely stamped between 1880 and 1930.
That's all I could find myself. Hopefully someone else knows more!
