How were you taught to swim as a child?
If you were taught to swim in Australia as a child, how did you do it?
Did you get lessons?
Learn at school?
Or did your Dad just drop you in the deep end one day when you were just out of nappies, smoke a durry whilst he watched you paddle, screaming, to the edge, then drag you out one handed, look down at your now proud face and say "told you that you could swim".
My siblings and I were laughing about all the unhinged stuff our deeply missed late Dad used to do to us and decided to poll our friends. I thought most people learned to swim calmly and in an age appropriate manner in school. But it turns out that in the 70s and 80's, black or white, rich or poor, boy or girl, most of us learned the later way 🤣
