Looking at the main book series and Fire and Blood there are multiple big examples of someone simply swiping poisons from the maesters chambers and either going on a rampage like with Andrew Farmon or committing smaller crimes like Tyrion drugging Cersei in a Clash with Kings. Even during the the assassination of Joffrey while we know that the strangler came from an outside source Pycelle mentions that multiple different poisons were taken not just the one Tyrion took. This seems like a huge security risk for the safety of lords and their families. Why do the maesters even have the poisons if it’s considered to be a dishonorable form of killing except somewhat in Dorne?
