Components and assembled artifact for the REF-01 [FRACTURE] wearable
hardware system. As an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) professional, I
designed this parametric piece to expose a simulated interlaminar CFRP
fracture. The core matrix is extruded PolyTerra Matte Black PLA, processed
at 0.12mm layer height with 6 solid walls and a 40% Gyroid internal
structure.
The industrial micro-sandblasted surface texture is generated directly via
slicer Fuzzy Skin parameters. Mechanical fastening relies on an M3x10 Torx
screw locking a 5×0.5×25mm solid copper ingot seated in a 0.9mm geometric
trench. An NTAG215 NFC chip is permanently sealed inside the polymer
matrix precisely at layer 23 (Z=2.76mm) via a print pause protocol.
Suspension uses 550 paracord and a magnetic clasp closure. Total system
mass is approximately 12g.
