Ignoring temperature and pressure, and also that part of the core is liquid, if you were to dig down into the earth would the pull of gravity get weaker since the amount of matter/mass underneath you is decreasing? And a follow up, would there be a point, say about half a radius deep, where the net pull of gravity is zero since the mass above you is equal to the mass below you?

in hindsight i should have removed the pin from the hinges, but instead i unscrewed the hinges that attach to the door frame. now the door stops a few inches from closed and needs to be pushed closed with a decent amount of force. the latch also requires force to open the door, and it's hard to lock and unlock the deadbolt. the hinges seem to flex when the door is pushed closed. and the pin moves a noticeable amount away from the frame. I added shims (rectangles cut from a 12 pack of coke) and it didn't help. not sure but it might even be worse. Any advice to fix this would be appreciated.
