Hi everyone,

I’m Cooldip from India. I am planning to come to China for the September intake to enroll in a 1-year Chinese language program.

Currently, I am self-studying HSK 1 (using the "Say Ninhao" YouTube courses), but I know I will learn much faster through total immersion in China. My primary goal is to learn the language so I can communicate directly with suppliers.

Because I want to practice my Chinese in the actual markets and do some side-business sourcing, I strongly prefer to be in or very close to Yiwu.

I am already speaking to an agent, but I want real feedback from actual students or expats who have done this.

I have a few specific questions:

  1. University Recommendations: Which colleges near Yiwu (like YWICC or Zhejiang Normal University in Jinhua) are best for business-minded students? How flexible are the class schedules?
  2. Real Costs: What are the realistic annual tuition fees and dorm costs for these language programs?
  3. Food (Strict Vegetarian): I am Gujarati and a strict vegetarian. How easy is it to manage food? Are dorm kitchens available for daily cooking, and are there decent vegetarian options near the campuses/markets?

If anyone has recently completed a language course near Yiwu or is currently studying there, I would love to connect.

Feel free to DM me here, or for a faster chat, you can reach me directly:

Thanks in advance for the help!
