I am an undergrad student (25 F) living in america. I have a private account with around 200 followers, mostly people I actually know from my uni. And no grid posts — i just post stories, i never highlight them though. i am not into fame and going viral. Occasionally I repost stuff with my own captions about Iranian women's struggle for freedom and related islamic propaganda, something I have a personal connection to.

But every time I do, I get this weird self-conscious feeling, like who am I to be posting this with 200 followers and a private account? Does it come across as performative even though the cause is genuinely personal to me? And I constantly wonder how my followers perceive it, even the ones I'm close to.

Does anyone else feel this way? Is there something about the small private account context that makes political posting feel different
