Hi! I'm from Mexico, and since today is Cinco de Mayo, I ended up seeing a lot of jokes about it online, which made me curious

I've seen people joke about some in the U.S. thinking it's Mexico’s Independence Day, but I'm not sure how accurate that actually is

From your experience, is that something that really happens, or is it mostly an internet exaggeration?

In Mexico, we honestly don't even celebrate that day, except for Puebla, which is where the battle against France actually took place (in some states it's a day off, but Puebla is the only one that celebrates it).
