EcoFlow 800W Setup (2 × 400W panels)

Picked up the EcoFlow system for £330 all in, now installed via a fused spur and dedicated MCB ( although you could just plug in in Europe) alongside my existing solar + Powerwall setup. (Fitted on my garden room roof)

Positives • Easy to get up and running – genuinely plug-and-play once mounted • Decent output for the size – consistently seeing ~0.5–0.9 kWh/day in mixed April weather • Works nicely as a top-up system alongside my main array • Cost vs output is strong – for the price, hard to argue • App is simple and gives a quick view of generation/savings

From the attached stats: • £8.19 generated so far this month • Daily earnings typically £0.30–£0.90 depending on sun

Rough Payback

Based on current performance: • Let’s say ~£0.60/day average (realistic UK blended) • ≈ £18/month • ≈ £150–£180/year

On a £330 spend including small discount: 2–3 year payback, likely closer to 2 years over a full summer cycle

Negatives • No panel fixings included – had to source separately which was a bit annoying • Customer service wasn’t great – slow responses and not particularly helpful • Equipment arrived slightly damaged (cosmetic) • To be fair, they did issue a small partial refund, but still not ideal out the box

Overall

For the money, it’s a solid little add-on system. Not a perfect experience getting it delivered and installed, but once it’s up, it just quietly does its thing.

If you’ve already got a system and want a cheap extra 800W, it’s a decent shout — just go in expecting to sort your own mounting and don’t rely on support.
