Hi there - I have some rot on the trim board around our porch. The rot appears to extend around a foot in length and a couple inches in towards the interior as in pics. What would be the best way to repair? Replacing the entire trim board is probably bit advanced for me. Would it make sense to cut away the area and put in new piece of either wood or pvc trim? Or just should I just cut out the rot and rebuild with epoxy putty? I'm a newish homeowner and fairly hairdy with many tasks, but woodworking is new to me.
