Audi S5 with 265/30R20 tires is for sale at an Audi dealership near Montreal. Dealer is claiming car is safe and roadworthy under Quebec standards. They even did an eligibility inspection for Audi Certified Plus (Audi's program for CPO/certified pre-owned), and marked tires as no damage and deemed car eligible for CPO (at extra cost). This was not an oversight on their behalf as the tire damage was raised the salesperson prior to inspection.
Tire has a visible gash on the sidewall (about 1.2" x 0.5") with no cords showing.
Is this actually safe and just cosmetic, or are they wrong?
