How has your experience been with Civ7 so far?

After spending some time with it I have mixed feelings. Honestly, Civ6 still feels a bit more complete and enjoyable to me right now Im even close to dropping Civ7 because it leaves me somewhat unsatisfied

Now I understand why many players say Civ5 and Civ4 were better than Civ6 even though Ive never personally played them

Positives:

  1. No more builders
  2. Barbarians feel more “alive” and integrated with AI behavior
  3. Map visuals and terrain design look better overall (more modern and detailed)
  4. Era system has improved slightly and feels more structured

Negatives:

  1. Warfare strategy feels almost the same as before, not much innovation
  2. Fewer leaders available (around 4 by default) which hurts replayability
  3. Too many settlers per leader (up to ~5) makes expansion feel unbalanced
  4. Default map size feels too small and limits strategic depth
  5. Diplomacy feels weaker trading resources/money between leaders seems reduced or removed
  6. Research and governor UI/design feels lower quality or less polished
  7. AI still doesnt feel very smart in key situations (especially war and diplomacy)
  8. Less variety overall compared to Civ6 (units, civ abilities, playstyles)
  9. Some mechanics feel simplified too much, reducing strategic complexity

All the negatives are basically the opposite of the other game (a Civ clone)

Civ7 has some good ideas and quality of life improvements but it doesnt feel like a big leap forward yet. Right now, it feels a bit incomplete or lacking depth compared to Civ6

Maybe it will improve with updates, DLCs or mods but at the moment Im not fully convinced

What about you?
Are you enjoying Civ7 or do you also feel like something is missing?
